Agreement Letter 2018: Other initiatives

UPM-GESPLAN's commitment to the inclusion of FAO's IAR Principles and DVGTs in academic curricula is made within the framework of the Master's and Doctorate in Rural Development Project Planning and Sustainable Management. This Master is characterized by its level of internationalization (course 18/19 students of 12 nationalities) that favors the participation of students in various activities throughout the academic year. Thanks to the Amendment to the Letter of Agreement, students of the Master have collaborated as support staff in logistics and preparation, as well as in the reception of attendees, including communication and translation work in the framework of the 1st Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition held in Madrid on October 29 and 30, 2018.
Support the implementation of the World Parliamentary Summit against Hunger and Malnutrition, to be held in the Cortes Generales of Spain in Madrid on October 28 and 30, 2018
Taking into account the characteristics of the Summit, the selection of postgraduate students was carried out by FAO through personal interviews and information sessions.

The work carried out at the Summit was mainly:
  • Support in organization, logistics, communication and translation at the 1st Parliamentary Conference against Hunger and Malnutrition and at the Latin American and Caribbean Forum
  • Support in organization, logistics, communication and translation at the 1st Parliamentary Conference Against Hunger and Malnutrition
Support of the students of the Master and Doctorate in Planning of Rural Development Projects and Sustainable Management UPM
PROPOSED ACTIVE YOUTH MOVEMENT OF THE UPS OF ECUADOR
Objective: 

The youth movement is a student association that seeks to promote the IAR Principles within the framework of the SDGs through the formation of local, national and international networks, establishing alliances between the academy and external organizations, with the aim of bringing carry out various initiatives to socialize the principles and the SDGs, raising awareness and helping to make visible the work carried out by different actors, who unknowingly work in favor of this initiative. 

The objective is to act locally, thought globally, to achieve a greater impact and that people, from different social groups, are more aware than end users in the various projects, activities, they are people and for that reason, work must be done with them and for them.
Mission:
Promote the Sustainable Development Goals and IAR Principles within the framework of the post 2015 agenda through an alliance between youth groups of third-level educational institutions and organizations in the public and private spheres, so that the academy is nourished and promote reading from science to reach students and engage them in promoting the principles. In this sense, the youth movement seeks to promote and promote spaces for participation, collaboration and action in different areas, developing a human, social and vocational commitment in each activity that is carried out.
Vision:
In 2030, become a benchmark network in Latin America in terms of advocacy, socialization and awareness of the importance of working for the IAR Principles.
