The main conclusions for the inclusion of the IAR and DVGT Principles in the academic curricula are summarized below in view of the commitments made by the Latin American and Spanish Universities.
The commitment in relation to the IAR Principles and the DVGT has been consolidated within the framework of the Conferences and Workshops, which includes 15 Universities from 7 countries (Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Spain) that have already initiated methodological changes to insert the theme of the IAR Principles and the DVGT in their different forms in the curricula of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as in research activities.

  • Different experiences have already been applied in more than 15 curricular programs, at the undergraduate and graduate educational levels. An interdisciplinary and international group of more than 80 teachers from 6 countries has been created at different levels - undergraduate and postgraduate - who share methodological concepts and a common language in relation to the IAR Principles and the DVGT, which facilitates a stable long-term collaboration. deadline, opening new possibilities for innovation and educational cooperation, and making it possible to share methodologies and resources. In these Universities, teaching teams have been created in relation to the subject.
  • The University Network coordinated by the UPM Research Group on Sustainable Planning and Management of Rural-Local Development (GESPLAN), offers an unbeatable opportunity to advance in the direction of the acquired commitments, promoting from the Educational Innovation the teaching renewal of the university teachings in the scope of the IAR Principles and the DVGT, as a strategic line of action of all the Universities that have committed themselves.
  • The WWP model in the field of rural development project management has been proven particularly suitable for research case studies and promoting joint projects that integrate the IAR Principles and DVGTs, and solving social conflicts from social learning.
  • From this conceptual and methodological framework, numerous experiences have already been undertaken with entrepreneurs and rural communities, in "living" laboratories, in relation to the application of the IAR and DVGT principles. There are ways of linking teaching with real needs, facilitating the preparation of sensitive professionals committed to IAR principles.
  • In the Network of participating Universities there is interest in a new phase of this project, to seek cooperation and linkage, between companies and public entities (universities, non-governmental organizations, companies) in order to train professionals and carry out research in specific territories. , from this approach of the integration of the IAR Principles and the DVGT, in order to generate wealth in rural areas and contribute to food security.
  • It is considered necessary to continue with the implementation strategies and monitoring of methodologies for the inclusion of the IAR and DVGT Principles in the academic curriculum of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the participating universities. Likewise, there are many aspects in which to advance in the products already designed and in the future teaching strategies of the undergraduate and graduate degrees. The authorities of the participating Universities have shown their commitment and have argued the need to continue working together in the future.
