Ia Summary of the investigation from the point of view of the IAR principles. The purpose of the research was to diagnose the application of the principles for responsible investment in agriculture (IAR) by the inhabitants in areas hit by the armed conflict in Colombia, specifically in the communities of El Arenillo and Caicedonia - Valle del Cauca. Methodologically, the participation-action technique was applied together with the working with people method to achieve social learning with collaborative participation. The results demonstrate that the weakest principles are: a) contribute to food security and nutrition, and b) contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development and poverty eradication. To face this, a plan of activities based on educational training is proposed whose sustainability is considered through the appropriation of the initiative and replication of the community, institutional support, the incorporation of new resources and actors, and the permanence of change.
Ib Geographical area of application of the research. The community of El Arenillo is a path that is part of the Ayacucho township in the Palmira municipality, Valle del Cauca - Colombia. Caicedonia is a municipality located in the eastern subregion of Valle del Cauca - Colombia.
Ic Dimension (s) of the IAR Principles addressed in the research: economic, social, environmental, governance. The principles were approached from the economic point of view to know the sustainability of the agricultural activity in the region, from the social to determine the impact of the displacements as a result of the armed conflict, from the environmental to identify the development of a responsible agriculture and from governance to measure the levels of organization, inclusion and empowerment of youth and women in the agricultural activity of the area.
Id Application for teaching: case studies generated. The “El Arenillo - Valle del Cauca” case study was generated as a living laboratory for in-class analysis by students.
